It almost feels like we’ve been here forever. We have regulars who have been coming in several times a week, who are starting to feel more like friends than acquaintances we only met 2 weeks ago!
We had a really good week. Several people are just getting into Warhammer 40k, and are throwing themselves into it wholeheartedly. Which is awesome. 40k is Josiah’s first and ever-lasting gaming love, so he’s pretty excited to find people who are starting to share his passion. He’s enjoying helping them learn the rules and fluff surrounding the vast 40k universe.
Star Wars X-Wing is starting gain some traction as well. This Tuesday was the Star Wars X-Wing beginners night, and we had two families come in to try it out. We’ve also got a third family who thinks the game is awesome (which it is) and who have played it several times.
Then there’s Magic. I played in my first Draft on Monday, which was interesting. I got slaughtered. But it was still fun, and I’m glad I did it. Now I know exactly how it works, instead of just understanding the theory behind it. Tuesday was Two Headed Giant, which had a smaller turnout, but people still had fun.
Friday (today) we hosted our largest tournament yet with sixteen players. People are laughing and playing as I type, and it’s great. I love it. Josiah loves it. And the customers seem to love it. What more could we ask for?
